Soay Sheep
We arrived in Shetland with 6 ewes and two rams of this fascinating and ancient breed. In the last three years we have produced an additional 28 lambs, some of which have already been sold to other crofters on the islands.
We previously had up to 70 Soays, most of which have been retired to a variety of farms and farm-parks in the southern counties of England.

These are a primitive breed of sheep from the remote islands of St Kilda, way off the north west of Scotland.

They generally (ewes) become very tame and will hand-feed happily.

They are excellent mothers, very hardy and full of character! They are slow maturing but produce superb meat.

We often have Soays available for sale, so please email us if interested.
